John R. Durand

President and Chief Sustainability Officer

Mr. Durand oversees XRI’s commercial planning, corporate development, governmental relations and marketing strategy functions. Prior to joining XRI, Mr. Durand was a founding partner of WaterBridge Resources, LLC where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to WaterBridge, he served on the management team of Pioneer Water Management LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of Pioneer Natural Resources). At Pioneer Water Management he oversaw the company’s commercial, logistical and supply sourcing functions. Mr. Durand has more than 30 years of upstream and midstream experience in the oil and gas and water midstream sectors and has negotiated landmark public/private partnership agreements in the water space with three Texas municipalities (Odessa, Midland and Fort Stockton).
In addition to his role on the XRI Fountain Quail board, Mr. Durand serves on the board of directors of the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, serving as Chairman of the Water Committee. He also is a member of the board of directors of the Produced Water Society where he serves on its Technical Committee. Additionally, John is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Shale Play Water Management magazine and serves on the Environment and Safety Committee of the IPAA.  Mr. Durand also serves on the Energy Advisory Board of the University of Texas at Dallas.

He holds a Master of Business Administration in Corporate Finance from the University of Dallas and a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Louisiana.
